How much does rat removal cost?
Rat removal will cost differently depending on the type of company you opt
for. There are two types of rat removal companies - there’s the type that
uses poison, and then there’s the one that doesn’t. It's the latter you will
want to go for. It might not be the cheapest option, but in the long run, it
will be.
If you hire a rat removal specialist who uses poison, you're going to end up
with dead rats somewhere in your home. You're going to need to find those
rats, sometimes cutting out entire sections of dry wall, and then dispose of
them, as well as finding every rat poop and urine splash, and every piece of
contaminated material (such as attic insulation) to dispose of those also.
If your guy is using poison, they probably won’t help you with the rest of
the task. That’s when you’ll end up calling in the
kind of rat removal expert who DOESN’T use poison.
These guys - the good guys - don't use poison because they use snap traps
instead. Although live cage traps are probably the option you were expecting
to hear, they’re not as humane as you’d think, and as a rat removal option,
they rarely work effectively. Lethal rat traps, on the other hand, has an
excellent success rate, but only when you use them on conjunction with a
thorough inspection and sealing / repair mission around the infested
property.
The good guys - the guys who don't use poison - they will help you with all
of this. The snap traps, the finding of the rats, removal of the babies,
cutting out of walls and then repairing them again, and even removing
corpses, feces, and all contaminated matter. They’ll find the holes (we use
a 32-point inspection process), and then they’ll seal them up, using only
the very best rat-proof materials. These include copper wire wool, steel
mesh wire, and even woven hardware cloth. Plastic, wood, and even drywall
are NOT rat-proof.

final decision, and always do your research. We would NEVER advice using a
rat removal company who recommends poison as a first choice. As any choice,
in fact.
