Orlando Florida Bat Trapping

This is a photo of a Florida bat control project in Kissimmee. I do professional bat control all over the state of Florida, and am based out of Orlando. I do a lot of Sanford bat control. Sanford is full of bats, probably due to its close proximity to Lake Jessup. Regardless, wherever I do my bat control, I don't actually trap the bats. I exclude them - that is, I perform a detailed inspection of the building, safely remove all of the bats without trapping or harming a single one, and make sure that the building is 100% bat-proofed so that no bats can ever get back in. I then clean up the waste they've left behind.

Although bat traps do exist and are sold, they are bogus. No professional would ever trap a bat. This could and likely will, harm the animals. And once they're trapped, then what? You can't kill them, it's illegal and immoral. You have to let them go, and even if you let them go 500 miles from the capture site (and who is actually going to do that?), they'll just migrate back to their home territory in a matter of days. Bat trapping is a silly strategy. Trapping works for other wild animals, and is often the only way to get the job done. However, it's not how proper bat removal is performed.
